Launched in 2004, Connect Ministry specifically caters to those between the ages of 19 and 25, including tertiary, poly, and ITE students, national servicemen and those who have just started working.
“to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we reach unity in faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4: 12,13)
Our vision for the ministry is based on Ephesians 4, verses 11 to 16: to “equip [young adults] for the works of service, for the building up of the body of Christ.” Our mission? To help young adults develop in the three dimensions of biblical knowledge, character-building and ministry related skills towards spiritual maturity.
In response to the call to spearhead this ministry, a core group stepped forward in early 2004. To build up the spiritual foundation and leadership qualities of the core group, four training retreats were held. The Connectors meet regularly to study the Bible in greater depth. The Connectors have also formed Connect cell groups that provide the base for fellowship and outreach. With an increasing number of young visitors to St. James’, the Connect Ministry is looking to hosting regular meetings in the year ahead. These meetings will serve both as a focal point for gathering all Connectors, as well as to encourage more to join us.
