As a church, we embraced the Greatest Commandment (Matt 22:38) and the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20) as our vision. We need to remain faithful to the “faith passed down to us” and be aware of our place in history and God’s design for what a church should be.

However, as a local church and family, at this juncture, we also sense a “crossroad” calling by the Lord. Situated at a crossroad at 1 Leedon Road in the Holland Village vicinity, we believe SJC is called to be:

1. A Crossroad Church for Seekers where all and sundry - youths, adults and senior citizens from all language groups, near and far ,can walk in and have their needs met. It will be a church sensitive to and relevant to the needs of seekers.
2. A Crossroad Church for Christians who are looking to grow or fulfil their calling to serve the Lord. We endeavour to build a authentic and Christ-centered community. Also, capturing our unique place as a Anglican Church, we seek to give room for Christians to pursue their faith and service within a framework of our inherited orthodox, apostolic and reformed tradition.
3. A Crossroad Church for the Body of Christ, where various kingdom ministries can thrive and where we serve generously to facilitate growth and networking, within the Anglican family and beyond.
4. A Crossroad Church for the Nations, where we see SJC as sitting on the spiritual “silk road” of Missions. The life and resources in this church will be directed by the Lord for the blessing of other nations.

This church has gone through various phases of growth. We are at the “crossroad” again as we seek for a fresh breakthrough in our church life, ministry and facilities (land and building).

Dealing Graciously - Let us be filled with God’s grace in ways we deal with each other, having a spirit of acceptance, respect and love for one another even when we are under duress. In this way, we as a church reflect the redemptive work of Christ. In all our ways, let us speak well of each other, seeking a mutually beneficial solution to all conflicts and always loving our brothers and sisters as Christ has loved us.

Developing Openness - Let us walk in the freedom to speak God’s truth and to present our views without fear or subterfuge. In the same way, let us value and respect each other’s freedom by carefully listening, valuing opinions and integrating differing thoughts. The church community should walk in openness and the leadership transparent in the way they communicate and serve.

Desiring Growth
- Let us desire a capacity to grow in excellence; cultivating a positive learning attitude and have a healthy respect for constructive feedback. Mistakes or failures should not be treated as fatal or final. We bear in mind the redemptive work of Christ and His grace in our lives and seek to extend that to others.

Discipling Culture - Let us be disciples and be willing to disciple others; helping one another to grow in maturity in Christ, with no ‘putting of lids’ and wanting to see each other reach our fullest potential.

Distinctly Person-Centred - Let us take every opportunity to value each person in the church, whether a member or guest. We should have a genuine interest and concern for one another’s lives.

Displaying Servant Leadership – For those in leadership, let us lead by following Christ’s example of servant leadership.

Dedicated to a Balanced Spirituality - Let us be faithful and obedient students of the Word and be open to the person, work and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Let us display a prudent, wise and mature attitude towards spiritual matters, holding firmly to the basics in the context of Christian wisdom, love and community.

Delighting in Unity - Let us treasure unity; seeking to move forward together as one body subjugating personal preferences and views in Christian deference to the wider community of Christ.

Demonstrating Kingdom Centred-ness
- Let us be church-based but not church- bound, always willing to share and give to the wider kingdom of the Lord.
