Home Cells

Our Cell Ministry is not just another programme in the church as the Cell is where the Church is. Our congregations which meet to worship on Sundays are essentially from different Cells. We believe in the Cell Ministry because the Bible teaches clearly that the church functions as a community in koinonia (Greek for ‘fellowship’). We now have 15 cells, comprising 10-20 people, meeting in various homes throughout the city. They are led by lay members (not our full-time staff, though they help to supervise) and are grouped according to common age groups e.g. young families, mature families, etc. The Cell meets to worship, pray, nurture new believers and grow in discipleship. In the weeks in between meetings, they often meet in smaller groups for Bible study, more intimate prayer or other social activities. Many Cells are involved in the other ministries together, e.g. doing Alpha Runs, attending Christian Education courses, going on mission trips, etc. They also act as a pastoral or support group and often, members rally around each other in times of crisis.

We have found them to be the best way for people to get integrated into the heart of the church, to make friends, to have fun and to develop individual gifts and ministries. So, if you want to get involved in the life at SJC, the best way to do it is by joining one.

If you are interested to join one, please contact Christine at Tel: 64690715, christine@sjc.org.sg.
