I shared about my late Aunt’s conversion to Christ last Sunday. This week I was exchaning thoughts with an old friend on how the church community in KL/PJ have been effectively witnessing (through Alpha and other ways). One by one, our relatives are being reached by the Gospel. This seems very unlikely when we first came to Christ in our teen years. But churches have been both obedient and living out their faith and thus, the witnessing impact.

Do we also feel this impact in Singapore? Or have churches here been getting a bit too sophiscated or lost the desire to share the Gospel simply? What about us here in SJC? Do we bring friends to our Cells or Services? Do we try to reach our friends (or strangers) with the Gospel?

You may say that some have heard many times and are not interested. Yes, there are occasions when we need to ‘shake of the dust off our feet” and move on. There are others who are open and ready to hear. But how will they hear unless someone preach to them? (Romans 10:14) Did not Jesus say that the fields are ripe and ready for harvest?

Let’s pray for a renewed zeal to share the Gospel. Maybe our life and ministry here have gotten a tad too sophiscated and busy till we have lost sight of what the church is essentially called to be and do. If we each do our part to sow the seed, we will be surprise how the wind of the Spirit will carry it to wherever He wills. Another family, unknown to you, will be blessed. Another troubled marriage will be saved. Another person slipping into eternity will do so with Christ in his heart, readied to meet his Maker.

If every church or Christian ‘lip’ and live the Gospel, imagine what the impact in our city will be like. And as we increasingly have foreigners working here, this same wind of the Gospel will breeze their lives too.

Early this week, a final submission to URA has been made. Pray that this will be fully approved by URA. We are very much on schedule with the plans to move out in early 2009. Meanwhile, we will need to continue to work through the details to cater to the various needs of the ministries, our congregational worship life and to ensure that the new site will be welcoming to visitors, Kindergarten parents and those from the nearby HV community.

As Cells resume their meetings this week, do have a refreshing time.
