This course aims to equip couples with the tools to pursue a God-centered courtship and relationship.

It is a wonderful opportunity for couples to learn how to communicate effectively and discover more about each other in the process.

During our time at JDC, we learnt how to navigate life as a couple, discovering what marriage is about and the commitments that come along with it.

By listening to the stories shared by young married couples, we received much insightful advice. Through the activities organised, we discovered our different love languages, and as the day progressed, our knowledge and commitment to each other grew.

One big takeaway for us was on the topic of the “Language of Apology”. We realised the importance of taking ownership and responsibility when in the wrong, and how to take steps to restore our relationship.

It covers seven sessions in total, designed to help married couples invest in their relationship and build a strong marriage.

Even after 14 years of marriage… there were areas in our marriage that had blind spots… The marriage course gently guided us to talk about and address these areas and provided knowledge and tools that we could use.

The Marriage Preparation Course seeks to empower couples to discover the attitudes, values and habits needed

to build a healthy and strong marriage to last a lifetime.

Each couple will be paired with a married couple to journey alongside.

It is the church's stand that for any marriage to be conducted in the community of SJC, the couple is
required to attend JDC and SJC Marriage Preparation.

The Marriage Preparation Course exceeded our expectations, offering a valuable platform for both of us to open up and deepen our understanding of each other. It provided an opportunity for us to adapt, ensuring mutual support as a cohesive team. The insights shared by the support couples through real-life experiences have been particularly enlightening, providing us with valuable perspectives concerning matters such as conflict resolution, that we will be able to leverage in our journey together.
