GETTING MARRIED AT ST JAMES' CHURCH

Couple may apply to solemnise their marriage at St. James’ Church (SJC) where at least one partner is a baptised and confirmed member of SJC. Both parties must attend and complete Marriage Preparation in SJC which includes Journey of Discovery Course.

Weddings may be conducted on Saturdays between 10am to 12pm, but excluding the followings:

  • Season of Lent [40 days (not including Sundays) from Ash Wednesday to the Saturday before Easter]

  • Season of Advent [3rd Sat till Christmas in December]

  • Synod [twice annually]

After completing SJC Marriage Preparation, SJC members would send an email to familylife@sjc.org.sg to check the availability of SJC premises on their desired wedding date. Enquiries should be done 6 - 12 months before the wedding date. The availability of the premises will only be confirmed after a process of review and approval.

For wedding conducted outside St. James’ Church, it is strongly recommended to confirm the availability of SJC Solemnising Priests before booking the wedding venue.

Couples will need to comply with SJC policies and guidelines applicable to weddings, as well as the legal requirements for registering a marriage in Singapore. More information on the legal requirements is available at www.rom.gov.sg
