THE MARRIAGE SUITE
Here at St. James’ Church, we believe that family units are an important pillar of the church. The formation of strong family units begins with marriages deeply rooted in God. The marriage suite is a recommended series of courses designed to help couples through the important milestone of marriage by building a solid foundation of expectations, community and skills.
In a nutshell, the recommendations are as seen below.
Attending Journey of Discovery Course is a pre-requisite for attending Marriage Preparation Course.
All members of St. James’ Church are encouraged to attend when they are dating, as early as 18 years of age.Marriage Preparation in St. James' Church comprises of 3 components:

Marriage Preparation Course (MPC)
5 sessions to discover the attitudes, values and habits that are needed to build a healthy and strong marriage that will last a lifetime.

An opportunity for couples to serve together by engaging children in learning.

Book Circle (BC)
3 sessions to learn and understand God's design for marriage.

It is the church's stand that for any marriage to be conducted in the community of SJC, the couple is
required to attend JDC and SJC Marriage Preparation.

Based on God's design for marriage, TMC equips couples with tools to build a stronger marriage and to strengthen the connection of the couple. We encourage all couples to invest time and be refreshed at TMC after three years of marriage.
